Summary
With the implementation of the RoHS directive, how to accurately measure hazardous substances in electronic products is of great significance. This article briefly introduces the European Union's RoHS directive, and takes LANScientific Scopex as the object to measure the five elements of Cd, Hg, Cr, Br, and Pb in RoHS, and conduct data analysis to show you the excellent performance and measurement results. It demonstrates the broad prospects of LANScientific Scopex desktop computer in RoHS applications.
background
The RoHS directive is the Rest riction of the use of cert ain hazardous substances in electrical and elect ronic equipment issued by the European Union. It is required that from July 1, 2006, the use of lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated in electrical and electronic products newly put on the EU market is prohibited. Diphenyl ether (PBDE) and other 6 toxic and hazardous substances. The specific limit standards are shown in Table 2-1. The directive applies to 8 categories of products, namely: (1) large household appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, etc.; (2) small household appliances, such as vacuum cleaners, irons, clocks, etc.; (3) information technology and remote communication equipment, Such as computers, copiers, printers, etc.; (4) user equipment, such as televisions, etc.; (5) lighting equipment, such as fluorescent lights, etc.; (6) electrical and electronic tools, such as electric saws, sewing machines, etc.; (7) toys, leisure And sports equipment; (8) vending machines.

Sample Preparation
For RoHS samples, try to melt them into lumps and put them in the sample cup. Before the measurement, wipe the surface of the sample with dust-free paper to ensure that the surface of the sample is clean and free of foreign matter.
Calibration
Use the company's existing PVC samples to establish the curve using the internal standard method. The measurement time is 300 seconds.
